Leash Reactivity Workshop

Location: Balboa Park, outside Bud Kearns

This hands-on workshop helps your dog learn to meet other dogs and common outdoor triggers while on leash, and teaches you how to keep your dog calm and confident in situations you encounter on everyday walks. You and your dog will work together in real-world practice scenarios, guided step-by-step by an experienced trainer who provides expert feedback and coaching as you go.

Rather than strictly talking about concepts, this session emphasizes active practice with your dog on leash: you’ll learn how to address barking, lunging, fearful bolting, and over-excitement, replace those behaviors with calm alternatives, and reinforce positive responses in the presence of distractions. The trainer will help you refine timing, body language, and reinforcement so you can apply these skills outside of class on your own walks.

By the end of the workshop, you and your dog will have practical strategies and real-world experience for navigating triggers, increasing your dog’s confidence, and making walks more enjoyable and under control for both of you.

Price: $60 per dog
